KENRO was established in June 2012 by Abigail Mae Vicente Bulayungan. She started her business without any experience or background in business, since she used to work in medical field before becoming a mother of three. She has been a housewife for 7 years until one time she thought of wanting to do something new. She’s passionate about apparel and footwear because for her it helps her express who people are, the mood, what people believe in and what people want to do. Ms. Abigail mostly produces the designs and style and she ensure that her products are quality. Her business name KENRO was created by combining the names of her two sons, KEN and KAIRO. She started her business with customized footwears/wedges while exploring the rich industry of locally woven fabrics. With the support of her family and friends her business was successful. She availed then the DTI programs for more enhancement of her business. She was also able to join several trade fairs in municipal and regional level and she was able to create jobs for the women and weavers in her community. Through the assistance of DTI, she was able to develop networks with suppliers in her community to source raw materials and sell her products domestically and internationally.
